Das Solmin wurdo im Jahro 1821 von D e s f o s s e sl) in den Beeren von Solanum nigrum entdeckt, als e k e ,,noue vegetsbilische Salzbase aus dem genus Solanum".Seitdem wurde Solanin auch in anderen Arten dieser Gattung, gewissermahn als hitalkaloid, aufgefunden.In bezug auf die Aufklarnng der Konstitution haben oine grol3e Anzahl Forscher berichtet. Eine ausfuhrliche Zusammenstellung der bis jetzt in dieser Beziehung vorhandenen Literaturangabeii hat der eine2) voii uns an aiiderer Slelle angefiihrt.AuBer diesen Arbeiton iiber die Konstitution sind zahlreichn Arbeiten erschienen, welche sich darauf . beschrgnken, Solanin i n verschiedenen Drogen aufzusuchen nnd ihren Gehalt zu bestimmen. Soweit aus der Literafur ersichtlich, Rind diese Angaben in beifolgender Tabelle zusammengestellt, worin sich in Spalte 1 die Stammpflanze, in Spalfe 2 die untersuchenden Autoren, in Spalte 3 die Literaturstelle und ondlich in Spalte 4 der Prozentgehalt findet, welcher s'ch, zoweit nichts angegeben, auf die trockene Droge bezieht. Dabei mag es bei der Bezeichnung Solanin dahingestellt sein, ob dau Solanin entgegeii den bisherigen ' Annnhmen, mie G. 0 d d o und A. C o 1 o m b a n 03) behaupten. je nach seiner Herkunft verschiedene Konstitution hat, oder ob auch vielleicht je nach dem Vegetationszustande der Pflanzen Stoffe von dem Solanin analogem Verhalten, aber verschiedener Zusammensetzung existieren. Fiir die in folgendem beschriebenen Untersuchungen wurdo ein Solanin verwendet, da8 a m Kartoffelkeimen hergestellt worden war. Einige Schwierigkeiten bereitete die Reindarstiellung des Produktes, vor allem die Befreiung von Solanidin.
