Die von Ehrlich angegebene Methode der Tuberkelbacillenfärbung hat den hohen theoretischen und praktischen Werth, der ihr von Anfang an zuerkannt wurde, trotz des umfangreichen Materials, das seitdem darüber vorliegt, unverändert und unbestreitbar behalten; die seither angegebenen Methoden sind sämmtlich Modificationen, welche auf dem gleichen Princip beruhen; ja es ist zweifellos, dass auf die Gestaltung und das Verständniss aller seitdem zur mikroskopischen Untersuchung auf Mikroorganismen angegebenen Färbungsmethoden die beiden Factoren des Ehrlich'schen Verfahrens, sowohl die Anwendung von Zusätzen zur Farbflüssigkeit, als die Entfärbung durch starke chemische Agentien, von allergrösstem Einfluss gewesen sind.
