E n g I h a rd t -G o I k el Die gleichzeitige Verabreichung von weiblichem und männlichem Hormon erscheint im ersten Augenblick paradox in den meisten Kombinationspräparaten wird das männliche Hormon in einer um ein Vielfaches höheren Dosierung als das weibliche gegeben. Trotzdem wird diese Therapie heute schon als die physiologischere Form der hormonalen Therapie bei der Frau angesehen, da sie der eigentlichen biologischen Situation, nämlich einem natürlichen Gleichgewichtszustand zwischen Oestrogenen und Androgenen, besonders angepaßt ist. Immerhin stellt sie, wie jede Hormontherapie, einen beträchtlichen Eingriff in das endokrine Gleichgewicht dar, sie sollte deshalb erst nach genauer Kenntnis der klinischen und experimentellen Grundlagen ihrer Wirkungsweise angewendet werden. Nachfolgend soll daher eine kurze Ubersicht über die physiologischen Grundlagen und klinischen Erfahrungen mit dieser Therapie gegeben werden. Physiologische Grundlagen der Androgen-Oestrogen-Theraple Jeder lebende Organismus besitzt unter normalen Bedingungen Hormone beiderlei Geschlechts, denn alle Organe, die Gesthlechtshormone sezerniereri, nämlich Nebenniere, Testes und Ovarien, sind bisexuell. Am bekanntesten ist diese Eigenschaft bei der Nebennierenrinde. Sie bildet die 17-Ketosteroide, androgene Hormone, die die typischen Virthsierungserscheinungen des adrenogenitalen Syndroms hervorrufen. Daneben sezerniert sie aber auch Oestrôgene und Progesteron, so daß Nebennierenrindentumoren mit erhöhter Oestrogenausscheidung beim Mann auch in sèltenn Fällen eine Ausprägung weiblicher Stigmata bewirkeñ (Simpson u. Joli, Rohoirn u. Teilum, Armstrong u. Simpson, Cahill, Wilkins). Aber auch Testes und Ovarien m u s s e n Quellen beider Hormone sein. Die Sertolizellen der Testes entsprechen entwicklungsgeschithtlich den Granulosazellen des Ovariums
