In order to be used as food supplements, materials (medicinal and aromatic plants, other materials containing active principles, etc.) need to be chopped and sorted by size, depending on the field of use: herbal tea, suspensions, tinctures, etc. The paper presents the results of research on the sorting process of some materials containing active principles (yarrow, alfalfa and willow bark) using a sorting machine provided with 2 electro vibrators fitted on each side of the framework within which 3 sieves with a mesh size of: 2.15, 4 and 8 mm are fitted, changing the oscillation regime of the sieves by adjusting the angle of the electro vibrators, in order to identify the optimal sorting regime.
Renewable energy represents a major interest field in the sustainable development of the energies reserve. Agri-pellets are an efficient version of the average pellet, both in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and in reducing energy costs. Agri-pellets are obtained through mixtures of vegetal and forestry waste, being an alternative to the usual pellets because the material that is used in the process can be easily found, especially in the case of farms. Agricultural and forestry biomass represent the raw material for pellets and agri-pellets processing, a product that is used as an alternative energy source to classic versions (wood). The mixtures humidity is very important because it has a major impact on product quality. Determining the ideal humidity for each type of pellets/agri-pellets is important in order to establish optimal mixtures, this paper presenting research results on determining the humidity influence on pellet and agri-pellet recipes.
The elaboration of technologies for cereal seeds is funded on livestock requirements corresponding to each fodder type, according to its aim. When we elaborate these technologies we have to take into consideration, beside the quantity aspect, the essential aspect of quality: - quality of raw materials used in manufacturing process and of end product; - functional quality of equipment and installations; - quality of personnel involved in production process. As the modern livestock aims at a sustainable development of food products by complying to food safety of those products resulted from livestock sector. The strategy of animal feeding has a huge impact on the livestock, the animal and human health state and the environment protection. The fodder processing and preparing are performed in order to raise their nutritive value, to increase the edibility and digestibility degree and to get some various and complete sorts of fodder recipes. The installation for obtaining concentrated fodders-IONC- is designed to micro-farms having a livestock sector in order to supply from their own production the concentrated fodders for feeding animals and poultry, by processing according to various recipes and in the required quantities, the fodders on the farm.
The polluting effect of wood sawdust left in nature acts especially on the environment due to biodegradation in time, under the action of bad weather, fungi and micro-organisms. Forestry and agricultural waste can be transformed through a technological process in pellets, agricultural pellets or combustible briquettes, products which may be used for energetic purposes, leading to higher use of them, and to nature protection of natural pollution with these secondary products. Determination of the influences of uncontrolled timber waste storage on the environmental components regarding the soil's quality in a site located in an unarranged sawdust warehouse area led to marking out an insignificant level of pollution induced by the quality indicator of phenols in all the soil profiles analyzed. Concentrations of pollutants in the air (ammonia and hydrogen sulfide) were below the limit value laid down in STAS 12574-87, while the measured concentrations of powders (PM 10) were located in the area of limit values.
Turning to good account the agricultural potential by encouraging alternative crops of technical plants, such as rape, aiming to provide an alternative energy source of fuel for tractors and self-propelled agricultural machines, represents a current energy expectation with extensive perspectives of development in the field cropping from Romania. During the last years the cropping of plants with a high energy potential: rape, soy beans, sunflower, sugar sorghum etc. on larger and larger surfaces has known an outstanding proportion, most of all that after EU negotiations and the implementation of the Community acquits that refers to arable crops (cereals, oil-bearing plants, protein crops, etc.) each EU-member country received a quota from the overall surface that is lower than the existing one, and thus important surfaces remained that may be used, as such, for the cropping of plants with a high energy potential aiming to assure the required energy for their own consumption in farms, micro-farms etc. (alternative energy sources). In opposition to conventional fuels, “biodiesel” has a reduced content of sulphur, its presence in the air generating acid rains. “Biodiesel” does not contain aromatic matters either, such as benzene. During “biodiesel” burning carbon dioxide is generated, however, no toxic pollutants.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
