Labour conditions of workers of the book-stiching shop with the following estimation of physiologic changes in their organism under the influence of work in dynamics of shift are studied, their morbidity with temporary disability is analyzed. Performance of hard work in workers of the book-stitching shop is accompanied by pronounced changes of functional indices of cardiovascular system and high general morbidity with temporary disability.
The results of the study of hygienic breeding of students of the 1, 3 years of the Medical University and the attitude of students of the 1, 3, 5 years of the Medical and Technical Universities to bad habits, as well as the effect of motor activity on the physical capacity for work, (health and academic progress of students are presented. The results of the study allow to make conclusions regarding low hygienic breeding of students, positive influence of their motor activity on the physical capacity for work and health, and reduction of the activity against bad habits durung the education at the University. It confirms the urgency of the formation of healthy moda of life among students.
In assessing the role of German physicians in the history of Russian medicine for a long time there were two mutually exclusive concepts: one of them extremely exaggerated this role, completely denying the identity of Russian medical thought in the first half of the last century, the other - negatively assessed the foreign experience and activities of foreign physicians in Russia. However, an unambiguous assessment of the activities of German medical scientists is erroneous. This is clearly evidenced by the data on their activities at Kazan University.

The philosophical concepts of the revolutionary democrats became the basis of Russian medicine. The achievements of natural science in the fields of chemistry, physics, and biology had an exceptional impact on the development of medicine. But apart from these fundamental factors, the achievements of Russian medical thought in the first half of the last century were of undoubted importance for the progress of medical science in the 60s.
The history of the Kazan hygienic school should begin not with the organization of the Department of Hygiene (1869), but much earlier - with the foundation of the Faculty of Medicine.
