DeprotectionDeprotection O 0345 Selective Removal of Silyl Protecting Groups from Hydroxyl Functions with Ammonium Chloride in Aqueous Acetonitrile. -Trimethylsilyl ethers are efficiently hydrolyzed to the corresponding alcohols using NH 4 Cl in aqueous acetonitrile. Benzylic, secondary and tertiary trimethyl silyl ethers are readily cleaved at room temperature whereas for the deprotection of primary or sterically hindered trimethyl silyl ethers a temperature of 80°C is favorable. -(SHAABANI*, A.; KARIMI, A. Water-distilled volatile oil from the aerial parts of Nepeta fissa C.A. Mey. was analysed by a combination of GC and GC-MS. Forty-two components were identified, constituting approximately 99.3% of the oil. The main constituents of the essential oil wereˇ-caryophyllene (17.4%), caryophyllene oxide (12.3%),-muurolene (7.9%), valencene (6.6%),ˇ-pinene (6.0%) and˛-pinene (5.8%).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
