Nd 2Àx R x CuO 4 compounds (R Y and Fe and x 0X0 and 0.05) are prepared by the conventional ceramic method. The majority of charge carriers is found to be positive for Nd 2 CuO 4 and negative for substituted compounds. The electrical resistivity decreased with Y-substitution and decreased further with Fe-substitution. In Nd 2 CuO 4 , a localization region is observed and is attributed to both the presence of anisotropy field and effect of self-doping. The localization field has been depressed in substituted compounds. DSC charts confirmed that the different transitions affected greatly the electrical resistivity as well as the thermoelectric power. The oxygen content is found to affect the transition temperature T N for substituted compounds.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
