A number of 30 buffaloes with uterine torsion were described in a period of 2010 to 2011 in our clinic in Basrah Province Alnashwa. All animals were treated first by rolling but only four cases responded and were corrected by this method, 86.67% of cases were corrected by caesarian section (CS). We found that the right uterine torsion was more incidence 73.33% than left uterine torsion, from the result, we found 4 cases of uterine torsion with malprsentation. The fetus survivability after caesarian section was only 46.51%. The study concluded that caesarian operation in early diagnosed uterine torsion in buffaloes is the best method for saving the fetal and maternal life in case of rolling failure.
Adenomyosis is a fairly frequent disorder adult she Buffalo characterized by the haphazard location of endometrial glands and stroma deep within the myometrium of the uterus. It was found in twenty she buffalo in Basrah governorate, suffering from repeated estrus and infertility. This study recorded the histopathological changes of this disease. This study showed that the endometrial glands are present mostly in myometrium which interfere the differentiation of the uterine cells in young female buffalo, the lesion also characterize by the fibrocytes as whorls pattern.
Sodium chloride poisoning has been suspected in Iraqi buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) of Basrah governorate, A study was conducted on 523 animals. All animals drank natural water from the Shatt al-Arab sources. Seventy-six animals show different clinical manifestations, and twelve clinically healthy animals were used as controls. Diseased buffalo exhibited different clinical manifestations. A significant increase in PCV with alterations in indices of clotting factors was also explored. Serum analysis demonstrated increase in serum sodium and chloride concentrations in diseased buffalo. However, water analysis revealed elevation of electrical conductivity, sodium, chloride and total dissolved solids in the drinking water of diseased buffalo. The macroscopic appearance of the carcasses showed congestion and slight edema of the brain tissues, Moreover, the histopathological examinations revealed, spongiform-like encephalopathy with severe congested blood vessels and neuro-vascular thrombus was detected.
The present study was designed to evaluate the effect of apricot and dexamethasone on rabbit eye ulcer. Bilateral corneal ulcers were induced by a filter paper disk (4mm diameter) immersed with NaOH (1N) on central axis of cornea in 20 rabbits. These animals were divided into two groups as follows; the first group, the corneal ulcer was treated with dexamethasone eye drops 0.1% twice daily while the second group, the corneal ulcer was treated with water extract of apricot 2% twice daily. The clinical signs of corneal ulcer were evaluated by ophthalmoscope and fluorescent technique. After killing the animals, the corneas underwent routine histopathological examination on the 1 st , 3 rd and 5 th day after treatment. Dexamethasone shows improvement in corneal ulcer through increasing the vascularization and infiltration of cells; also it causes an increase in congestion in blood vessels but increases thickness epithelium while the apricot group shows thick corneal epithelium associated with inflammatory cells. These findings indicate that apricot was good in treating for eye ulcer.
