We studied the range of woody and shrubby plants in the park of urban-type settlement Petropavlivka, their taxing characteristics, phytosanitary state, and compliance with the ecological conditions of the area. We carried out an assessment of the floral design and the level of improvement of the park and garden object. The territory of the park is divided into zones – children’s, memorial, walking, zone of quiet rest and cultural events. There are no small architectural forms, there is practically no park and garden equipment. The flower decoration of the park is unsatisfactory. Rectangular-shaped flower beds are located in the middle of the alleys. Apart from flowering plants, they include Juniperus sabina and Rose garden gr. Floribunda. The range of flowering plants is represented by 7 species of perennials from 7 genera, with Iris hybrida and Viola reichenbachiana dominating. 523 specimens of woody and shrubby plants grow in the park, which belong to 23 species from 11 families. The share of coniferous species is 7.27% in relation to all plants of the park. The species diversity index is 7.72, which characterizes it as an object with an insufficient level of dendro diversity for the park. The dominant tree species in plantations is Robinia pseudoacacia, there are somewhat less Acer platanoides trees, Ligustrum vulgare dominates among shrubs. Five families (Aceraceae, Salicaceae, Oleaceae, Pinaceae, and Rosaceae) are represented by three species each; the rest are represented by 1–2 species. The most numerous families in terms of the number of specimens are Oleaceae, Fabaceae and Aceraceae. 10 introduced species grow in the park, which is 40.15% in terms of the percentage of specimens. Trees with a height of 10.0 to 12.0 m predominate among plantings of the park. Their share is 27.08% of the number of all trees. The groups of 8.1–10.0 and 12.1–14.0 m are represented by a smaller number – 19.05% each. Most often there are trees with a trunk diameter of 28.1–34 cm, which is 27.38% of the total number of trees in the park. Robinia pseudoacacia dominates in this group. There are fewer woody plants in the groups of 22.1–28 and 34.1–40 m, which is 17.56 and 20.24% respectively. Only 3 specimens have a trunk diameter of more than 52 cm. Populus balsamifera. The vast majority of trees in the park of urban-type settlement Petropavlivka (69.8%) are classified as “healthy”, 21.4% are with signs of damage. 8.2% of trees are severely damaged. Only about half of the park’s woody plants are able to endure a long drought without damage, while others require additional watering during the dry period. 54.29% of plantations are not demanding for soil fertility, 39.57% are megatrophs.

A landscape assessment was carried out and the integral value of the plantations of the Tomylivskyi Park-Monument of Landscape Art of local importance was determined. According to the integral assessment, the plantations of the park's I and III sections are classified as particularly valuable, and II and IV sections as of limited value, which is explained by the presence of a slightly larger number of mistletoe-infested, dead and dry-top trees, as well as the spread of self-sowing invasive species. The landscape of the park corresponds to the first stage of recreational digression, as the area of roads, paths and grounds occupies less than 5 % of its territory. The high total recreational score of the Tomylivskyi Park-Monument allows it to be classified as the highest first class in terms of recreation. The taxonomic composition of the park-monument is represented by 76 species. It has been established that the Pinophyta division includes 8 species grouped into one class, one subclass, two orders, two families and 5 genera. The Magnoliophyta division includes 64 species, 2 hybrids, 2 cultivars, which are grouped into 47 genera, 22 families, 19 orders, 6 subclasses and 1 class. As a result of the inventory, it was established that currently there are 2446 woody plants on the territory of the Tomylivskyi Park-Monument, of which 596 are trees, 1843 are shrubs, and 7 plants have a tree-shrub life form. The average age of the greenery in the park is approximately 60–70 years. The first trees were planted in 1940. Among the trees, the most common are Robinia pseudoacacia L. – 96, Ulmus capriofolia L. – 72, Tilia platyphylos Scop. – 56, Celtis occidentalis L. – 38, Corylus colurna L. – 37, Acer platanoides L. – 36, which is 56 % of the total number of trees found in the park. 77 specimens of dead and dry-top trees that are drying out and have lost their decorative effect are to be removed. Sanitary pruning is required for 87 trees, which is 14.5 % of the total number of trees in the park. The main reasons for the deterioration of the sanitary condition of the trees in the plantations of the park are the invasion of Viscum album L.; changes in climatic conditions, in particular, a decrease in precipitation and a decrease in soil moisture reserves, which led to the loss of Betula pendula, Juglans cinerea L.; excessive tree density and competition between trees for light, moisture and mineral nutrients, which affects their weakening and pest damage (Picea abies (L.) H. Karst, Buxus sempervirens L.) The inventory results and comprehensive analysis of tree and shrub plantations of the park-monument of horticultural art of local importance «Fastivskyi» are highlighted. It was established that the park dendroflora is represented by 43 species belonging to 33 genera, 21 families, two classes and two divisions. The division Pinophyta includes 7 species, which are grouped into 6 genera, 3 families, 2 orders, one subclass and one class. The department Magnoliophyta includes 36 species, which are grouped into 27 genera, 18 families, 14 orders, 4 subclasses, and one class. The families Rosaceae (18,6%) and Aceraceae (11,6%) dominate by the number of species. The genus Acer has the greatest species diversity (5 species). Most of the territory of the landmark park (94,12%) is covered with forest, with the predominance of plantations of artificial origin. Forest massifs are mainly formed by Quercus robur L. (50,8 %) and Pinus sylvestris L. (21,3 %). The predominance of woody plant species number over the number of shrub species in the dendroflora indicates the forest type of the park landscape. The park landscape corresponds to the second stage of recreational digression. The landmark park acquires a special natural value due to the oak stands of 101-106 years old and medieval dendroexotics Catalpa bignonioides Walt., Cuninghamia lanceolata Hook., Larix decidua Mill., Pinus strobus L., Phellodеndron amurеnse Maxim. The results of a comprehensive assessment of the park's plantings indicate its significant dendrological value. The lowest is the assessment based on the criteria of the sanitary condition of tree plantations. It was established that the general sanitary condition of park plantations is unsatisfactory: the share (46,0%) of weakened, very weakened and drying trees outweighs the share of healthy ones (35,0%). A significant number of dead trees (19,0%) was found, which indicates the need for immediate reconstruction of the protected object and restoration works.
