Zur Relevanz hypnotischer Trance und hypnotischer Phänomene in Psychotherapie und Psychosomatik

Abstract

Hypnose stöβt zur Zeit sowohl bei Patienten wie auch bei Therapeuten auf verstärktes Interesse. Es erhebt sich daher die Frage, welche Relevanz hypnotische Trance und hypnotische Phänomene für die heutige Psychotherapie und Psychosomatik haben können. Der Beitrag versucht, Antworten auf diese Frage zu geben. Zunächst werden phänomenologische Gemeinsamkeiten (und Unterschiede) zwischen hypnotischem und neurotischem/psychosomatischem Verhalten untersucht, da diese vorwissenschaftliche Plausibilitätskriterien für das Interesse vieler Patienten an Hypnose darstellen könnten. Nichtwill-kürlichkeit und Evidenz werden als wesentlichste Gemeinsamkeiten gefunden und ihre Bedeutung zur Konstruktion und Manipulation von Wirklichkeit dargestellt. Des weiteren wird argumentiert, daβ hypnotische Trance und deren Phänomene eine bedeutende Rolle in der Verstörung symptomatischer Stabilität, als Hilfe zur «Dezentrierung» und als erleichternder Zugang zu nonverbal gespeicherten Informationen bieten können. Eine verstärkte wissenschaftliche Beschäftigung mit der Hypnose könnte sich theoretisch fruchtbar und praktisch als hilfreich erweisen.

Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Hypnose in der Schmerzbehandlung

(In diesem Zusammenhang sei daran erinnert, daß hypnotische Phänomene isomorph zu neurotischen und psychosomatischen Symptomen sind [52,57].) Daß psychotische Patienten ganz allgemein von einer hypnotischen Therapie ausgenommen werden sollten, muß hier nicht eigens betont werden.…”

Hypnosis in psychotherapy, psychosomatics and medicine. A brief overview

“…Although the aim of other methods such as psychoanalysis (e.g., by free association) or cognitive behavioral therapy (e.g., by Socratic dialogue) is to make the patient understand such connections and thereby resolve symptoms, hypnosis makes it easier to access these memories and accelerates this process. One possible explanation for this is that the induction of a hypnotic trance favors a state of sensory deprivation and motor restriction ( Peter, 1994 , 2023e ), 1 which constricts general attention and peripheral awareness and focuses on the essential content of the suggestions. This makes it easier to address these other functional units of perception and consciousness, which are only active in the background or subliminal in the usual patterns of everyday consciousness, i.e., unnoticed or “unconscious.”…”

“…This is plausible insofar as in such situations a person's self-efficacy is reduced to the point of absolute helplessness and they are dependent on effective actions and instructions ("suggestions") from others. If voluntary competence to act is reduced and attention is highly focused, this corresponds to one of the prerequisites of hypnosis, namely motor restriction and sensory deprivation (Peter, 1994, and such situations possibly produces a state of situational hypersuggestibility (Hull, 1933): Patients at the doctor's and especially in hospital are highly receptive to all information, positive and negative, placebo and nocebo suggestions (Hansen and Zech, 2019;Zech et al, 2019Zech et al, , 2020Zech et al, , 2022, this even applies to operations under general anaesthesia (Nowak al., 2020(Nowak al., , 2022. Whether this situational hypersuggestibility correlates with high hypnotizability and/or even requires a special hypnotic "trance" state requires further investigation, just as the relationship between hypnotizability and suggestibility in general is still open to further research.…”
