Zur Chemie der kondensierten Phosphate und Arsenate. XV.

Show more

“…The only exothermic peak at 520K corresponds to the crystallization of long-chain polyphosphate of lead [Pb(PO 3 ) 2 ] ∞ according to the results of Cd 3 (P 3 O 9 ) 2 .14H 2 20,29 . In fact, in the results of M. H. Simont-Grange 29 and K. Sbai 20 , the IR band appearing at 913 cm -1 in the spectrum of Pb 3 (P 3 O 9 ) 2 .3H 2 O, characterize easily the structure of long chain polyphosphates. This result is confirmed in the DTA curve by an exothermic peak at 516K.…”

“…The structure of crystalline metaphosphates as they are formed upon melt crystallization (see 2,8) is represented by only one anionic species: either a distinct ring anion (e.g. tri or tetrametaphosphate 4,8) or a crystal constituted of infinitely long anionic polyphosphate chains2. Thus the initial anionic distribution in the melt is transformed into the distinct anionic structure of the crystal: the crystallization of phosphate melts and glasses has a typical anionic reconstructive character 2,9.…”
