The aim of the study is to determine whether there is a relationship between the value of investments made for nature protection and the area of legally protected areas in Poland. The research problem concerns investment outlays incurred for nature protection in relation to the surface of areas with high natural values in Poland, taking into account the division into voivodeships in the years 2002-2021. In general, the area of legally protected areas in Poland did not show high variability in the analysed period, while the assessment of the relationship between the variables showed differences between voivodships. The results of the statistical analysis showed that there is a positive relationship between investment outlays, and the share of legally protected areas and that the level of investment outlays incurred for nature protection is not proportional to the share of legally protected areas.

The aim of the study was to analyze changes and to assess the diversification of the level of investment expenditures on fixed assets used for environmental protection and water management in Poland. The study period covered the years 2002-2015. Regional structure and dynamics of changes in the level of investment expenditures were analyzed. In addition, the share of investment expenditures on environmental protection and water management in investment expenditures on the national economy was calculated. There was an overall increase in investment outlays on fixed assets for environmental protection and water management in Poland, as evidenced by the increasing dynamics of changes over time.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the implementation of environmental investments in rural areas and prepare a ranking of voivodships. Detailed studies covered Polish rural areas according to voivodship division and were focused on environmental investments related to water management: the sewage network, water supply systems, collective and individual sewage treatment plants, water treatment plants and flood embankments. The research period covered the years 2010-2019. The research uses indicators characterizing investments in water management. The method of zero unitarization was used, which allowed to compare the values of the adopted indicators and establish a synthetic indicator determining a ranking of voivodships according to the implementation of environmental investments. Research shows that more than half of all expenditure are investments related to the sewage and water supply network. The exceptions are the Łódzkie and Podkarpackie voivodships, where greater expenditure is incurred on collective treatment plants than on the water supply network. The values of the synthetic index make it possible to determine the regions where the most and least environmental investments were implemented. The highest values of the synthetic index are found in the Mazowieckie, Wielkopolskie and Małopolskie voivodships. The lowest values of the indicator are recorded for the Opolskie, Podlaskie, Świętokrzyskie and Śląskie voivodships, where the least environmental investments were implemented.
