ZrO2 Nanofiber as a Versatile Tool for Protein Analysis

Abstract: Phosphorylation is one of the most important post-translational modifications in proteins. Their essential roles in the regulation of cellular processes and alteration of protein-protein interaction networks have been actively studied. However, phosphorylated proteins are present at low abundance in cells, and ionization of the modified peptides is often suppressed by the more abundant species in mass spectrometry. Effective enrichment techniques are needed to remove the unmodified peptides and concentrate the… Show more

“…[43][44][45] Correspondingly, the specic surface area of FZR, 72 m 2 g À1 , is in the higher end of literature values (5.9-106.3 m 2 g À1 ) for pure and doped zirconium oxide nanobers. 14,41,[46][47][48] Titration. Potentiometric titration was conducted to determine acidic nature of the zirconium oxide materials, Fig.…”

“…A total of 33 phosphopeptides corresponding to 33 phosphoproteins were identified from 1 mL of human saliva by the yolk–shell structural MSP@ZrO 2 . Wang et al fabricated ZrO 2 nanofibers by electrospinning technique, which could selectively capture phosphoproteins with different isoelectric point (pI) values by adjusting the pH of solution …”
