Aptasensor Based on Hierarchical Core–Shell Nanocomposites of Zirconium Hexacyanoferrate Nanoparticles and Mesoporous mFe3O4@mC: Electrochemical Quantitation of Epithelial Tumor Marker Mucin-1

Abstract: A novel nanostructured hierarchical core–shell nanocomposite of zirconium hexacyanoferrate (ZrHCF) and a mesoporous nanomaterial composed of Fe3O4 and carbon nanospheres (denoted as ZrHCF@mFe3O4@mC) was prepared and used as a novel platform for an aptasensor to detect the epithelial tumor marker mucin-1 (MUC1) sensitively and selectively. The prepared ZrHCF@mFe3O4@mC nanocomposite exhibited good chemical functionality, water stability, and high specific surface area. Therefore, large amounts of aptamer molecul… Show more

“…The high-resolution spectrum obtained on the Au−MPA−DFO− Fe(III) (panel B) shows two characteristic peaks in the region of 705−735 eV related to Fe 3+ 2p 1/2 and Fe 3+ 2p 3/2 , which is interesting and further supports the above discussions, specially the EDX results. 72 The CV and EIS measurements performed in the presence of 2.0 mM FcMeOH redox probe (Figure S1) support the accumulation of Fe(III) by the Au−MPA−DFO system.…”

“…The XPS survey spectrum obtained on the Au–MPA–DFO–Fe(III) system (panel A) indicates several peaks related to C 1s, S 2p, N 1s, O 1s, Au 4p, Au 4d, Au 4f, and Fe 2p. “…Similarly, the cathodic photocurrent increased linearly with an increase in the MUC1 protein concentration in the range 1.0 fg mL −1 to 30.0 ng mL −1 (Fig. 2A and B), and a low detection limit of 0.3 fg mL −1 was achieved (S/N = 3), a value superior to those from previous assays for the MUC1 protein 24–29 (Table S4, ESI†). None of the tested interferents caused any obvious change in the signal, thereby confirming the satisfactory selectivity of the assay for the detection of the MUC1 protein (Fig.…”

“…In 2000, this group named PB an "artificial PO" [177]. At the same time, a large number of other scientific groups, especially from China, worked hard on this problem [148,154,[156][157][158][159]166,[168][169][170][171][172][173][174].…”
