“…Because of this, zinc does not have a distinct redox chemistry compared to other transition metals; mainly Zn(0) and Zn(II) are known. Utilising its properties, we prepared Zn‐VCO 3 hydrotalcite as a catalyst for Hantzsch dihydropyridine reaction. The catalyst was prepared by co‐precipitation method, and the prepared catalyst was calcined at 500 °C for 4 h. It was employed for the synthesis of 6 novel dihydropyridines by reacting the benzaldehydes, acetoacetanilide, ammonium hydroxide and 20 mg of Zn−V hydrotalcite in water and heated to 60 °C.…”
