Our Contributions in Synthesis of Diverse Heterocyclic Scaffolds by Using Mixed Oxides as Heterogeneous Catalysts

Abstract: This personal account mainly introduces and reviews our recent contributions in developing different catalyst materials involving mixed oxides and their scope as renewable catalysts in multicomponent reactions to synthesize various novel heterocyclic scaffolds under green conditions. The application of various mixed oxides and their composites in the organic synthesis is emphasized through this review, in order to reveal the versatility, scope and importance of mixed oxides and their interactions during the re… Show more

“…Hence, such processes generate more chemical waste, affecting the environment [ 26 , 27 , 28 ]. The one-pot approach, however, uses effective reusable catalysts, green solvents and eco-friendly methods [ 29 , 30 , 31 , 32 ]. Using efficient heterogeneous catalyst materials is a progressive approach to generate desired products with high selectivity and atom economy [ 33 , 34 ].…”

“…These reactions shows an extensive variety of potentials for a powerful structure of composite fragments in a one‐pot procedure, consequently evading the difficult purification processes and tolerating reserves of reagents and solvents . MCRs possess several benefits in terms of simple reaction approach, readily accessible raw constituents, shorter reaction time, higher yields, environmentally friendly, cost‐efficacy and high atom‐economy . Therefore, to improve novel and more viable approaches for the green synthesis of heterocycle molecules are still required.…”

“…1,2 In such reactions, multiple-bonds are formed between three or more reactants in a single step, with no need to isolate any intermediate or change the solvent. 3 MCRs are well-known tools for easy carbon-carbon bond creation in synthetic chemistry, 4 and offer an easy workup procedure, higher selectivity and improved yields due to generation of C-C and C-heteroatom bonds in a single step. [2][3][4] MCRs offer notable benets including simple handling, construction of highly complex molecules in a single step, formation of products in higher yields and minimizing the need for purication.…”
