Zinc finger protein 91 accelerates tumour progression by activating β‐catenin signalling in pancreatic cancer

Abstract: Pancreatic cancer is a lethal disease with a 5-year survival less than 9%. 1 The diagnosis of pancreatic cancer is often at late stage and over 80% of patients with pancreatic cancer are not suitable for surgical resection. 2 Chemotherapy and targeted therapy are now the most widely used treatments for pancreatic cancer. However, due to the rapidly developed resistance to drugs, the survival of patients is far from satisfactory. 3 Therefore, it is imperative to uncover the underlying mechanisms responsible for… Show more

“…The WNT/β-catenin pathway is one of the most crucial signaling pathways in modulating the occurrence of EMT in tumor cells (25)(26)(27). In addition, several studies were detected regarding the activation of WNT/β-catenin in PC (27)(28)(29)(30)(31). Combined with the EMT results of the present study, it was hypothesized that linc01614 may function as an oncogene partly by modulating the WNT/β-catenin signaling pathway.…”

“…For 'zinc-finger protein 91', an E3 ubiquitin ligase upregulated in prostate cancer, colon cancer and pancreatic cancer 24 , no experimental structures are available, but the human structure is predicted by AlphaFold (AF-Q05481). All transplanted zinc atoms have high global r.m.s.d.…”

“…ZFP91 promotes the proliferation, migration, and invasion of pancreatic cancer and enhances chemoresistance by activating the βcatenin signaling pathway. 89 ZEB1 is closely associated with the development of krasdriven PC, promotes EMT, and enhances the stemness and drug resistance. 90,91 In conclusion, majority of ZNFs can promote tumor cell proliferation, invasion, and migration in pancreatic cancer.…”

“…Notably, some ZNFs may contribute to the chemoresistance. ZFP91 promotes the proliferation, migration, and invasion of pancreatic cancer and enhances chemoresistance by activating the β‐catenin signaling pathway 89 . ZEB1 is closely associated with the development of kras‐driven PC, promotes EMT, and enhances the stemness and drug resistance 90,91 .…”
