“…In accordance with de®nitions used in previous works (Levine & Thomson, 1997;Groma, 1998;Unga  r et al, 1982;Hecker et al, 1997;Zehetbauer et al, 1999;Unga  r & Tichy, 1999), the effective outer cut-off radius of dislocations, R e , will be considered as de®ned in equation 3. R e and R H e are related as R e exp2R H e 7X39R H e X 25…”

“…Some assumptions must be done about the compactness of dislocation arrangements and their nature and typical M values from the literature can be used. We approached the problem by a sort of "tuning" of the values by using the values of the M parameters obtained by CMWP and the proportionality factor 1/e 2 between the dislocation effective cut-off radius R e * and R e = e 2 R e * previously used as the effective outer cut-off radius of dislocations by a few authors [41][42][43]. That proportionality factor happens to contemplate three different levels of deformation and two temperature regimes, making both, W-H and CMWP results, quite similar, which supports the validity of W-H method as a fast evaluation tool.…”

“…The samples, cut into bars having dimensions 19 mm×17 mm×12 mm, were scanned by XRD [5][6][7][8][9] (D/ MAX-RB, RIGAKU Co. Japan). The stress values of samples were calculated automatically by program.…”
