PurposeDigital technology plays a vital role in empowering omnichannel integration. Research on digital technology has recently attracted attention and rapidly developed. However, a comprehensive assessment of the research status and potential gaps is yet to be conducted. Thus, this study investigated the current research status of digital technology-empowered omnichannel integration, and future research directions are proposed.Design/methodology/approachA three-stage bibliometric analysis was conducted on 764 articles published from 2000 to 2023, cited in the Web of Science database. Furthermore, performance and thematic analyses were performed.FindingsThe most productive contributors and influential articles in this field were identified, and four themes of focus were discovered: service quality, o2o commerce, omnichannel retailing, and digital transformation.Originality/valueTo the best of our knowledge, this work is the first attempt to enable researchers to understand the vast body of published scholarship on digital technology-empowered omnichannel integration.

The circular economy (CE) has gained significant global attention as a potential solution to environmental and socio-economic issues, such as pollution, waste generation, and resource depletion, arising from the textile and clothing industries. The objective of this bibliometric review is to explore the trends and patterns of circular economy research in the apparel industry. Data were collected from the Scopus database while the bibliometric data were analysed using VOSviewer software. A comprehensive search of pertinent keywords linked to circular economy in the textile industry yielded 697 empirical and review articles. The analysis revealed significant aspects of the evolution of textile circularity research and voids in the discipline. This review also uncovered the central research themes, the countries, the influential journals, and the productive articles in this field. The Journal of Cleaner Production was the most prolific outlet, and the United Kingdom was the most productive country in circular clothing research. The results of this study can assist scholars in identifying novel research methodologies in this domain. Therefore, the study serves as a valuable addition towards identifying the primary patterns in circular economy research in the textile industries and suggesting potential avenues for future research endeavours.

The European project was borne out of the strong desire of Western European politicians to root out wars and create peace and prosperity in Europe in the post-war period. With the Eastern enlargement of the EU, this mission seemed completed. However, a series of crises starting in 2008 with the Global Financial Crisis revealed many pressing problems in the European integration process. The EU needs to adapt to the new geopolitical and geoeconomic realities while it should take new initiatives to make European integration fair and sustainable. In this paper, using a new conceptual framework, we analyse the factors that hinder fairness and sustainability in the EU and suggest broad directions for reforms that can promote the European integration process.
