This result suggests that the woody matrix ''supplements'' or even ''complements'' habitat resources for this species known to depend on short grasslands for feeding (Bowden 1990) yet found by Schaefer and Vogel (2000) in ecotones between open and closed habitats. Finally, serin, hedge accentor and especially tree pipit provide typical examples of the complementation phenomena as they are rare in homogenous open landscapes as well as in forested landscapes (Fonderflick 2006), but seem to take advantage of a combined presence of woods (matrix) and open areas.…”
