In 2019, Labuan Bajo was designated a super-priority tourism destination, but this area is prone to earthquakes and tsunamis. The potential threats of disasters need to be considered when developing the tourism sector. Therefore, this study aims to determine the height and arrival time of tsunami waves based on a worst hypothetical scenario on the north coast of Labuan Bajo and its surroundings. The method used was numerical modelling with open source software TUNAMI F1, which calculated the wave propagation based on linear equations in spherical coordinates based on worst scenarios. The results showed that the Flores back-arc thrust earthquake caused a reasonably high tsunami with a fast arrival time at Labuan Bajo. The wave height of the tsunami around Labuan Bajo, Rinca, and Komodo Island is at least 3 m, but it reaches 8-9 m under certain conditions. Furthermore, its arrival time on the coast of Labuan Bajo is less than 2.5 minutes. This is much faster than those in Aceh (2004), Pangandaran (2006), and Palu (2018). Even though the early warning came 5 minutes after the earthquake, a high level of preparation and awareness is required to create a disaster-resilient tourist area in Labuan Bajo.

This article aims to describe the tourist behavior of State Civil Servants of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia. Data was obtained by distributing questionnaires via Google form to staff. Of the fifty (50) people who were asked to fill in, as many as forty-one (41) or 82% filled it out. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and the findings from this study were that the tourist behavior of state civil servants at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy varied greatly. Most of the respondents travel between three to 6 times a year, like nature tourism, plan their trips within a week or less and between 3 to 6 months, travel between 2 to 3 days and between 4 to 6 days. Sources of information for their holidays mostly come from social media and from friends or colleagues. Most of them like to travel with their families and a few travels with friends, but no one travels alone.

African Swine Fever (ASF) merupakan penyakit menular dengan tingkat morbiditas dan mortalitas tinggi yang menyerang ternak babi, baik ternak babi domestik maupun babi liar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat mobiditas dan mortalitas African Swine Fever pada Peternakan Rakyat yang tersebar di 12 Kecamatan di Kabupaten Manggarai Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder ternak babi yang sakit dan mati akibat virus ASF. Penentuan status infeksi ASF melalui pemeriksaan sampel melalui metode polymerase chain reaction (PCR) yang dilakukan di Balai Besar Veteriner Denpasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa morbiditas dan mortalitas pada ternak babi yang terinfeksi ASF mengalami peningkatan dari tahun 2020 hingga 2021. Morbiditas atau tingkat kesakitan secara menyeluruh meningkat dari 1,67 % di tahun 2020 menjadi 3,86% di tahun 2021. Penyebab tingginya morbiditas ASF di Kabupaten Mangarai Barat antara lain masyarakat belum memahami penerapan biosekuriti yang ketat, sistem pemeliharaan masih secara tradisonal, populasi babi liar yang tidak teridentifikasi dan personal. Mortalitas atau tingkat kematian secara menyeluruh meningkat dari 1,36 % di tahun 2020 menjadi 3,37% di tahun 2021. Penyebab meningkatnya mortalitas antara kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang transmisi penyakit, gejala klinis penyakit, sumber infeksi penyakit, dan pencegahan penyakit. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut diatas, peningkatan kasus ASF di Kabupaten Manggarai Barat disebabkan oleh peternak itu sendiri. Oleh karena itu, Dinas Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan perlu melakukan edukasi dan pemberdayaan kepada peternak di Kabupaten Mangggarai Barat agar lebih memahami ASF sehingga angka morbiditas dan mortalitas menurun.
