“…In general, the individual functional score results and the mobility of the wrist joint demonstrated favourable-to-excellent results in all cases, which are in accordance with other studies [21, 22]. Specifically, in the patients that had screw breakage intraoperatively, this did not result in clinical drawbacks.…”

“…7,8 Carbon fiber has better fatigue strength than either titanium or stainless steel, meaning that it can withstand higher stress for a given number of cycles without breaking. 7,8 Additionally, it is radiolucent, which aids in the radiographic visualization of the fracture site during postoperative follow-up visits. 7,8 However, to date, outcomes of carbon fiber plating for fibula fracture fixation have not been studied clinically.…”

“…Carbon fiber implants have a modulus of elasticity similar to that of bone, which acts to decrease stress shielding of the bone. 7,8 They also have increased biocompatibility in comparison to metal, which leads to a minimal histological cellular response when studied in vitro and in vivo. 7,8 Carbon fiber has better fatigue strength than either titanium or stainless steel, meaning that it can withstand higher stress for a given number of cycles without breaking.…”
