WIMPs in a 3-3-1 model with heavy sterile neutrinos

Abstract: In this work we build a gauge model based on the SUð3Þ c SUð3Þ L Uð1Þ N symmetry with heavy neutrinos and show that we can have two weakly interacting cold dark matter candidates in its spectrum. This is achieved by noticing that a global Uð1Þ symmetry can be imposed on the model in such a way that the stability of the dark matter is guaranteed. We obtain their relic abundance and analyze their compatibility with recent direct detection experiments, also exploring the possibility of explaining the two events r… Show more

“…It is important to first notice that the Z gauge boson arising from the L µ − L τ local symmetry dictates a dark matter phenomenology rather different from other realizations of a "dark Z portal" (see e.g. [67][68][69][70][71][72][73][74][75][76][77][78][79][80][81][82][83][84]). For example, the dark matter pair annihilation exclusively yields muon, tau, and neutrino pairs, as well as Z boson pairs, if kinematically allowed (i.e.…”

“…where, g is the standard electroweak gauge coupling, s W (and c W ) refers to the Sine (and Cosine) of the electroweak mixing angle and Given the approximations made over the parameters to obtain analytic expressions for the massive CP-even scalar eigenstates, described in (Pires and Silva, 2007;Mizukoshi et al, 2011), we have:…”

“…Another variation with a second neutral fermion in the 331 leptonic triplet, that allows for a WIMP in the spectrum was considered in (Mizukoshi et al, 2011), the 331LHN model. As we mentioned, the difference between the 331RHν and the 331LHN is in the character of the third component of leptonic triplet, which in the later model is a new neutral left handed fermion, N L , besides its right handed component, N R , as a singlet under the gauge symmetry.…”
