Previous studies have reported that the EDI for the total parabens for adults and children are 74.4 and 40.8 μg kg −1 body weight per day, respectively (Asimakopoulos et al 2014;Ma et al 2013). These values were several orders of magnitude higher than the maximum EDI for the total parabens from swimming pool water, suggesting that human exposure to parabens from swimming pools is negligible.…”

In March 2011, Denmark has banned the application of propyl paraben, butyl paraben, and their salts in cosmetic products for children under 3 years old (Asimakopoulos et al 2014).
