Whole-Genome Sequence of Mycoplasma bovis Strain Ningxia-1

Abstract: A genome sequence of the Mycoplasma bovis Ningxia-1 strain was tested by Pacific Biosciences (PacBio) single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing technology. The strain was isolated from a lesioned calf lung in 2013 in Pengyang, Ningxia, China. The single circular chromosome of 1,033,629 bp shows differences between complete Mycoplasma bovis genome in insertion-like sequences (ISs), integrative conjugative elements (ICEs), lipoproteins (LPs), variable surface lipoproteins (VSPs), pathogenicity islands (PAIs), … Show more

“…The first strain (40) clustered with M. bovis strains: 08M, Ningxia-1 and JF4278. The first two of these strains have been isolated in China [30,31], while the third strain was identified in Switzerland [3]. The second field strain of M. bovis in this study (9029) was grouped with Egyptian and Hungarian strains [32,33].…”

“…Subsequently, clustering was performed using ppanggolin cluster, followed by the graph construction and partitioning (ppanggolin graph, ppanggolin partition). After generating our 36 assemblies, we compared our data with the study by Yair et al (27), which included 175 assemblies (whole-genome shotgun project PRJNA564939), as well as seven NCBI RefSeq genomes of M. bovis (PG45 NC_014760.1, Hubei-1 NC_015725.1, HB0801 NC_018077.1, CQ-W70 NZ_CP005933.1, 08M NZ_CP019639.1, Ningxia-1 NZ_CP023663.1, JF4278 NZ_LT578453.1) (28)(29)(30)(31)(32) and one genome provided by the NCBI (NM2012 CP011348.1).…”

“…The availability of completely sequenced genomes of S. auerus allows elucidation of amino acid sequences and identification of dominant epitopes of newly discovered mastitogenic pathogens virulence factors to be used in the design of vaccines for better control of mastitis (Baba et al, 2008). The complete genome sequences are available for 5 Mycoplasma bovis isolates (Sun et al, 2018). Comparing the genetic diversity between 82 Mycoplasma bovis isolates which were collected from various geographical locations by using WGS.…”
