“…The pregnant female phantom series of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) (12th, 24th, and 36th weeks of gestation) [17], the Fetal and Mother Numerical Models (FEMONUM) developed by Telecom ParisTech (8th, 10th, 26th, 30th, and 35th weeks of gestation) [18], the Katja phantom [19] (24th week of gestation), as well as the voxel newborn model [20] of Helmholtz Zentrum München were used in this work to construct new series of fetal/pregnant female models [21]. The FEMONUM utero-fetus models at the 8th and 10th weeks of gestation were constructed based on medical images acquired using 3-D ultrasound imaging while the FEMONUM utero-fetus models of the 26th, 30th, and 35th weeks of gestation were constructed using 3-D magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data.…”
