What Looks Good with my Sofa: Ensemble Multimodal Search for Interior Design

Abstract: Abstract-In this paper, we propose a multi-modal search engine for interior design that combines visual and textual queries. The goal of our engine is to retrieve interior objects, e.g. furniture or wall clocks, that share visual and aesthetic similarities with the query. Our search engine allows the user to take a photo of a room and retrieve with a high recall a list of items identical or visually similar to those present in the photo. Additionally, it allows to return other items that aesthetically and styl… Show more

“…Salah satu data yang dikumpulkan yaitu contoh furniture yang digunakan sementara pada pengembangan aplikasi ini. Data-data furniture pada aplikasi didapatkan dari penelitian yang berjudul "What Looks Good with my Sofa: Multimodal Search Engine for Interior Design" (Tautkute, et al, 2017 (Nidhra & Dondeti, 2012). Dengan kata lain, pengujian black box yaitu pengujian yang dilakukan dengan menjalankan aplikasi pada lingkungan yang sebenarnya.…”

“…To address the above-mentioned shortcomings of the currently available search engines, we propose a novel end-toend method that uses neural network architecture to model the joint multimodal space of database objects. This method is an extension of our previous work [9] that blended multimodal results. Although in this paper we focus mostly on the fashion items such as clothes, accessories and furniture, our search engine is in principle agnostic to object types and can be successfully applied in many other multimedia applications.…”
