Weight‐transducerless control strategy based on active disturbance rejection theory for gearless elevator drives

Abstract: Direct-drive traction systems applying the permanent magnet synchronous motor have become the trend of modern gearless elevators. To estimate and reject the non-linear and uncertain load disturbance effectively during the elevator startup, a novel active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) strategy adopting extended state observer (ESO) and non-linear error feedback (NLEF) controller is proposed to attenuate the elevator car sliding without using weighttransducer. By using the weight-transducerless control st… Show more

“…There are three main parts of the ADRC, TD, LSEF, and ESO. The TD is a transition link, makes the given signal filtered, filters out possible interference at the input, and the phase is corrected [30]. The LSEF adds the given signal which is processed by the TD and the signal which is feedback by the ESO together, plus the total disturbance, it can be seen as the control signal of the controlled target [31].…”

“…The LESO is embedded into current controller to realize robustness in the full-speed range. In [30], an ADRC controller using ESO is proposed for elevator traction machine. The nonlinear disturbance during elevator startup is estimated, which improves the dynamic response without using weight sensor.…”

“…However, it suffers from multiple problems including: (1) tuning of its parameters; (2) high sensitivity against noise and external disturbances; and (3) loss of efficiency due to oversimplified control law [26,27]. One promising technique to relatively get rid of the drawbacks of PI regulator is active disturbance rejection controller (ADRC) [26,28]. The ADRC is a nonlinear control scheme, which provides a robust control against noises, external disturbances, and parameter uncertainties.…”
