“…Total lengths of L. dieuzeidei in this study were between 7.15–16.20 cm, which was similar to L. dieuzeidei from the southern Aegean Sea (range 8.7–14.1 cm (Bilge, Yapici, Filiz, & Cerim, )), Portugal coasts, Atlantic Ocean (range 6.8–16.2 cm (Olim & Borges, )) but larger than those from the Adriatic Sea (range 7.4–13.7 cm (Valisneri et al., )). However, lengths of L. dieuzeidei from the Tyrrhenian Sea were between 5.0–19.0 cm (Voliani, Mannini, & Auteri, ), which might be attributed to the differences of catch time, catch equipments and the number of fish sampled.…”

“…To circumvent this problem, fish catches were converted to biomass (kg). Published length/weight relationships were used for this conversion ( Morey et al, 2003 ; Ilkyaz et al, 2008 ; Bilge et al, 2014 ). However, when precise length measurements were not practical the organisms were assigned into 10 cm length classes (see justification above), except for P. elephas which were assigned into 5 cm CL classes.…”

“…The weight of the individuals sampled on board was obtained using length-weight relationships (Morey et al 2003, İlkyaz et al 2008, Bilge et al 2014. However, when no length measure was available for a given item, the average length of all the conspecific items was used.…”
