Weed management through tank mix and premix herbicides in wheat

Abstract: A field experiment was conducted during the Rabi (winter) season of 2014-15 and 2015-16 at Agricultural Research Station, Dharwad, Karnataka, India to evaluate the efficacy of tank mix herbicides and premix herbicides on weed control and its influence on productivity and profitability in irrigated wheat. Tank mix application of sulfosulfuron + metsulfuron 25 + 4 g/ha recorded significantly higher grain yield (4.31 t/ha) followed by clodinafop + metsulfuron 60 + 4 g/ha (4.15 t/ha) over weedy check. Biological y… Show more

“…Another reason might also be due to the only use of a single herbicide being limited efficacious in controlling weeds as compared to their pre-mix utilization. Similar results were also obtained by Bharat et al (2012); Kumar et al (2012); Singh et al (2015); Sudha et al (2016); Chaudhary et al (2017), and Meena et al (2017). Choudhary et al (2021), Deshmukh et al (2020), andRaj et al (2020) reported similar results and revealed that pre-mix post-emergence use of clodinafop-propargyl + metsulfuronmethyl 0.06 + 0.004 kg/ha and sulfosulfuron + metsulfuronmethyl 0.03 + 0.002 kg/ha showed higher efficiency of weed control, herbicide efficiency index and lower weed index.…”

“…Bhoir et al, (2016) Manual three hand weeding at 20, 40, 60 DAS resulted as highest weed control efficiency 97.72 % by wheat. Sudha and Biradar (2016) Sulfosulfuron + metsulfuron 25@ g ha -1 + 4 g ha -1 recorded that highest weed control efficiency 81.62 % by wheat. Kaur et al, (2017) Pendimethalin (PE) fb sulfosulfuron (PoE) 1.0 fb 0.018 kg ha -1 recorded that highest weed control efficiency 95.6 % by wheat.…”
