Web Mining to Create Semantic Content: A Case Study for the Environment

Abstract: In this study, the goal is multifold. At first we present a summarized review of terms and facts regarding the branch of ecoinformatics, web mining and the semantic web. In Section 2 we provide some related work derived from the current literature upon the web mining and the production of semantic content. The main part of our work follows presenting a notional model for building semantic content through 2-level web mining. This is achieved in web sites containing environmental data. We conclude mentioning the… Show more

“…The first is finding certain paths, or, in automata-theoretic terms, the membership problem under strong acceptance. Our approach, combining such queries with automata with infinite input, seems novel and promising and we encourage corresponding approaches for similar cases, not only upon the query part of Linked Data, but also on the verification of efforts to create automatically Linked Data like in (Theocharopoulou & Giannakis, 2012).…”

“…Research on semantic data mining involves ways and methodologies to utilize both prior knowledge and the linking structure among data to perform efficient mining (Liu, 2010, Theocharopoulou & Giannakis, 2012. The infinite data space of information stored in (semi-)structured sources addresses the goal of developing innovative approaches to solve several challenges.…”
