Wearing‐off fluctuations in Parkinson's disease: Contribution of postsynaptic mechanisms

Abstract: Wearing-off phenomenon that complicates levodopa therapy of Parkinson's disease has been attributed to a reduction in striatal dopamine storage due to the progressive degeneration of presynaptic dopaminergic terminals.
