Abstract: Waitea circinata var. zeae (anamorf Rhizoctonia zeae) is an important pathogen of mainly monocotyledonous plants characterized by its soil-borne nature and capability for the long-term preservation. The host range of W. circinata var. zeae recently expanded to several dicotyledonous crops.
