Abstract: Effect of varying volumes of commercial substrates, soil and organic compost on yellow passion fruit seedling growth in different cultivation conditionsThis study aimed to evaluate the growth of passion fruit seedlings in three volumes and sizes of polyethylene bags, under three conditions of protected cultivation, using six substrates. Seedlings were cultivated in: (A1) arched greenhouse covered with 150 µm-thick polyethylene film, zenithal ventilation and thermo-reflective shading screen with 50 % shade; (A2… Show more

“…Cruz et al (2008) observed that the use of swine wastewater in irrigation of sour passion fruit seedlings provided increase in the amount of dry matter of seedlings, supplying the nutritional demand of seedlings without the supply of commercial fertilizers. Costa et al (2011) observed that the containers with dimensions of 15.0 × 21.5 cm in environments with shading showed higher accumulation of total dry matter in the yellow passion fruit seedlings.…”

“…The number of emerged seedlings was counted daily from the 7th to the 28th day after sowing (DAS) to verify stabilization of germination, according to the methodology contained in the Rules for Seed Testing for the passion fruit seeds (Brasil, 2009). Emerged seedlings were considered to be those that had cotyledons fully expanded above the surface of the substrate.…”
