“…Em muitos casos, tem sido empregado o enxerto autógeno de áreas extraorais (NYSTRÖM et al, 2009;SBORDONE et al, 2009 O índice de sobrevivência de implantes dentários instalados em área da maxila e mandíbula, reconstruídas ou não com enxerto ósseo autógeno, tem sido relatado em diversos estudos (HIGUCHI; FOLMER; KULTJE, 1995;SANT'ANA, 1997;BROCARD et al, 2000;MORAES JUNIOR, 2002;NAERT et al, 2002;MOY et al, 2005;TOLSTUNOV et al, 2007 Para determinar se o tratamento com implantes dentários obteve sucesso, um conjunto de variáveis tem sido utilizado: ausência de mobilidade, ausência de infecção ou inflamação durante o exame clínico, ausência de fratura, ausência de radiolucência ou perda óssea detectável radiograficamente (inferior a 1,5mm no primeiro ano de carga e de 0,2mm nos anos subsequentes) (ALBREKTSSON et al, 1986;BUSER et al, 1997;DEGIDI et al, 2005).
