Voltammetric determination of Rutin at Screen-Printed carbon disposable electrodes

Abstract: Rutin is a flavonoid commonly employed for many therapeutic purposes. Although the electroactive phenolic groups of rutin might be oxidized at low applied potential, the adsorption of oxidized species changes the electrode surface. As a consequence, the repeatability and reproducibility of the method decreases, which limits electroanalytical applications. This paper describes the use of disposable screen-printed electrodes as an alternative to improve the electrochemical quantification of rutin in commercial a… Show more

“…A is the electrochemical surface area of the modified electrode and B is the slope of the calibration plot. The results given for the analytical parameters of RU at the modified surface of various electrodes are identical to the analytical parameters attained at the PGAMGPE, as shown in Table 1 [ 32 , 33 , 34 , 35 , 36 , 37 , 38 , 39 , 40 ]. Additionally, the PGAMGPE results validate that the PGAMGPE is an appropriate tool for the sensitive electrochemical detection of RU with a significant improvement in the simplified fabrication process.…”

“…A novel copper film with carbon nanotubes modified screen-printed electrode was used in the tests. The SPE electrodes are now very popular and are often used in voltamperometric determinations [5][6][7][8][9][10]15]. They are valued primarily for their reproducibility and sensitiveness, effectiveness in analysis, a large active surface, excellent electrical conductivity, and good chemical stability.…”

“…The SPE electrode, on the other hand, has several advantages over conventional electrodes, such as the simplicity of use, commercial availability, low price, and the possibility of using it in field research as a portable sensor. The reproducibility and sensitiveness of these electrodes are very good, so they can replace classical solid electrodes in the analysis [5,6]. Their effectiveness in analysis gives a chance for their widespread and more frequent use [7][8][9][10].…”
