“…Boron-doped diamond (BDD) thin films are novel carbon-based materials that have very attractive properties compared to other conventional electrodes in terms of (i) wide electrochemical potential window; (ii) low and stable background current; (iii) resistance to electrode fouling; (iv) high response reproducibility and long-term response stability; and (v) biocompatibility. As advantages, we can conclude that the BDD electrodes provide the potential for electroanalysis application with high sensitivity [24][25][26]. To eliminate possible interference from easily oxidizable species in biological samples, cholesterol detection and measurement via the monitoring of H 2 O 2 reduction is proposed in this work.…”

“…Most of them include separation methods such as gas chromatography with mass spectrometry [5], high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV detection [6] and mass spectrometry [7] as well as capillary electrophoresis [8]. These methods offer sensitive and selective determination of YOH, however, they require long analysis time and time-consuming sample pretreatment processes as well as highly sophisticated and expensive instrumentation [9]. Prior to separation in chromatographic column, the general procedure for extraction and isolation of indole alkaloids including YOH, reserpine, ajmalicine etc.…”

“…Beside this, the preparation of chemically modified electrodes is complex and time consuming process that usually involves various steps in incorporation of the different, often expensive, modifiers to the electrode surface leading to the results that are not always reproducible. 33 Sometimes it is unnecessary to modify electrode surface for the purpose of sensitivity improvements in a practical analysis, reducing expenses as well as manipulation time relating to electrode modification. In our experiments satisfactory limit of detection and good linear concentration range were obtained without any electrode pretreatment with whole analysis time round 1-5 s.…”
