Voices, faces, places: Life in Frogner

Abstract: This examination of Anne Haugsgjerd’s first short film, Livet på Frogner (Life in Frogner) (1986) views it as a postmodern project. In many ways it pioneered an aesthetic mode that became more prominent in Norwegian film decades later – the genre-expanding hybrid film – while also using the female voice-over in new and experimental ways.
