Establishing new models of health care and new forms of professional health-patient communication are lines of development in the field of health care. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the evolution of information systems and communication platforms to guarantee continuity of care and compliance with social distancing measures. Our objective in this article was, firstly, to know the expectations of patients treated in the healthcare processes “cervical cancer” and “pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium” regarding online access to their clinical history and follow-up in the care process. Secondly, we analyzed times involved in the cervical cancer process to find points of improvement in waiting times when digital tools were used for communication with the patient. A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out on 120 women included in any of the aforementioned processes using a hetero-administered questionnaire. The analysis of times was carried out using the Business Intelligence tool Biwer Analytics®. Patients showed interest in knowing their results before the appointment with the doctor and would avoid appointments with their doctor if the right conditions were met. Most recognized that this action would relieve their restlessness and anxiety. They were highly interested in receiving recommendations to improve their health status. It was estimated that there was room for improvement in the times involved in the care process, which could be shortened by 34.48 days if communication of results were through digital information access technologies. This would favor the optimization of time, resources and user perception.

In recent years, there has been a technological revolution affecting all areas of life, including health. Following this trend, a series of electronic devices called wearable technology have emerged with the aim of improving the quality of people’s life. These devices are made up of tools that help to prevent the development of chronic diseases and fight against the aging of society by monitoring the vital signs of users. Despite the advantages of using these devices from medical and health points of view, it is necessary to know the opinion of users regarding their use. For this reason, this study has been proposed. The purpose of this study is to analyse the perceptions of the subjects involved in the research regarding the acceptance of wearable devices, taking into account variables, such as age and gender. To this end, a nonexperimental, ex post facto design has been composed that combines descriptive and inferential techniques, with a sample of 606 patients and relatives belonging to a public health centre in the community of Madrid.

La investigación tuvo como objetivo conocer los pilares fundamentales para la gestión de la información y comunicación en hospitales públicos, la cual se desarrolló mediante el método de revisión bibliográfica de diversos artículos científicos en español, inglés y portugués, tomando como criterio la selección de estudios con antigüedad no mayor a cinco años; las cuales se encuentran disponibles en la base de datos como Dialnet, SciELO, PubMed, ResearchGate y Redalyc. Proceso que consistió en realizar un análisis de coherencia y similitud de contenido, logrando obtener como resultados que los 30 articulo estudiados. Como evidencia de ello, se ha logrado identificar cuatro ejes principales, como son las herramientas de comunicación, además de las estrategias de comunicación, las características de comunicación para mantener los registros seguros, por último, y no menos importante el eje denominado competencias digitales. Logrando concluir que, la gestión de la información y comunicación presenta diversas características fundamentales para el desarrollo de los procedimientos hospitalarios, por tanto, se caracterizan por ser utilices, fáciles, seguros y confiables.
