“…8,9 Of these intelligent hydrogel materials, the pH-responsive ones are widely investigated because the pH value is a crucial environmental factor in human bodies. 6,10,11 In recent decades, natural polymers such as polysaccharides, have frequently been used to design intelligent hydrogel drug carriers (reserving drugs in a de-swollen state and releasing drugs in a swollen state) owing to their superior physiochemical and biological properties (e.g., biodegradability, renewability and biocompatibility). 12,13 However, polysaccharide-based hydrogel drug devices have two signicant inherent limitations: one is the poor mechanical strength, and the other is the lack of sustained release ability.…”

“…In the equation, k represents characteristic constants of hydrogel and n is the exponential coefficient, which describes the mode of transport mechanism. The value of n was calculated as 0.45 for Fickian diffusion and 0.89 for swelling‐controlled diffusion . Model fitting results for our system were illustrated in Figure b, which suggested Fickian mode of diffusion of the drug from targeted carriers both in the presence and absence of collagenase.…”

“…Triethanolamine, a viscous organic compound, used as a cross‐linker to create hydrogels with good mechanical stability, is safe to use at concentration below 5% in prolonged contact. (Cevik et al ., ; Safety assessment of Triethnolamine, )…”
