Vis‐NIR Light‐Responsive Photocatalytic Activity of C3N4−Ag−Ag2O Heterojunction‐Decorated Carbon‐fiber Cloth as Efficient Filter‐Membrane‐Shaped Photocatalyst

Abstract: C3N4‐decorated carbon‐fiber (CF) cloth has been demonstrated to be a filter‐membrane‐shaped photocatalyst for degrading flowing wastewater, but it can be excited only by visible light (λ<450 nm). To extend the photoresponse range to NIR region, herein we have designed and prepared C3N4−Ag−Ag2O heterojunctions on CF cloth. The growth of C3N4 nanosheets (thickness: 20–30 nm) on CF cloth is realized by a thermal condensation method, and then Ag/Ag2O nanoparticles (10–20 nm) are deposited on CF/C3N4 cloth by a che… Show more

“…[27][28][29] Similarly, the Fe 2p spectra of BC/ZnFe 2 O 4 shows lower binding energy (711.27 eV, 713.58 eV, 719.58 eV, 725.59 eV and 733.62 eV) than that of ZnFe 2 O 4 , resulting from the electrons transfer from ZnFe 2 O 4 to BC. [30,31] The above results further explain the presence of BC and ZnFe 2 O 4 . Finally, highresolution XPS spectra of Cr 2p from BC/ZnFe 2 O 4 after photo- catalytic reaction was observed ( Figure 2f).…”

“…Strong interaction between g-C 3 N 4 and the substrate can be achieved during high-temperature sintering, which is beneficial for the secure fixing of photocatalyst coating. Increasing the amount of photoactive component in the composite membranes through several coating methods resulted in better photodegradation performance [ 57 ].…”

“…Carbon‐fiber (CF) cloth is a promising substrate with outstanding conductivity, flexibility, strength, etc . Recently, our group has prepared C 3 N 4 , TiO 2 /C 3 N 4 and C 3 N 4 /Ag/Ag 2 O on CF cloths as filter‐membrane‐shaped photocatalysts, and they (diameter: ∼10 cm) exhibit excellent photocatalytic activity, stability and recyclability for purifying the flowing wastewater. Considering that MoS 2 /CdS heterostructures have good photodegradation performance but poor recyclability, we realized the in‐situ growth of MoS 2 /CdS heterostructures on flexible and conductive CF cloth, through a hydrothermal‐chemical bath deposition two‐step route.…”
