Effectiveness of History Teaching Based on Social Constructivist Learning and Development of Historical Thinking Skills

“…Çalışmada gerçekleştirilen analize göre öğrencilerin tarihsel okuryazarlık becerilerinde anlamlı farklılık saptanmamıştır. Bu sonuç, tarih öğretim programlarında yer alan en önemli sıkıntılardan biri olan, tarih öğretiminde edinilen bilgilerin günlük hayatla bağlantısının neredeyse olmadığı sorununu gündeme getirmektedir (Demircioğlu, 2014;Gilbert, 2011;Ijaz, Bogdanovych ve Trescak, 2017;Işık, 2008;Wang, Li, Shen ve Meng, 2017). Çalışmadaki öğretim tasarımı doğrultusunda gerçekleştirilen etkinliklerde bu sıkıntı göz önünde bulundurulmuş ve günlük hayat ile tarihi bilginin bağlantısının kurulabilmesi için mahalle gezisi gerçekleştirilmiş, Kıbrıs sorununa çözüm önerileri sunulmuş, Kıbrıs sorununun tarihini içeren film izletilmiş, mülteci sorununu içeren videolar ve haberler irdelenmiş ve özetle belirtmek gerekirse bugünün sorunlarını da göz önünde bulunduran etkinlikler uygulanmıştır.…”
