AbstractThe purpose of this article is to contribute to understanding the virtual organization and its relationship with electronic commerce. The relevant literature on virtual organization forms through which business-to-business e-commerce is organized is reviewed. A model of the virtual organization is presented and its use in a case study demonstrated. Implications for further research are discussed.
