Viral Nanoparticles‐Mediated Delivery of Therapeutic Cargo

Abstract: The rapid advancement of nanotechnology in recent years has opened new avenues of investigation for biomedical sciences. Viral nanoparticles (VNPs) are formulated from plant viruses, mammalian viruses, or bacteriophages. Based on their structure, viruses, and synthetic carriers have been utilized to design bio‐inspired nanocarriers, which serve as building blocks for innovative therapeutic applications. Scientists can chemically or genetically engineer VNPs to encompass various properties, such as enhancing th… Show more

“…23–25 In recent years, research and development into new, safe and practical virus delivery vectors has been a hot spot in the field of medical materials, which is expected to promote the development of oncolytic virus therapy in a better direction. 26,27 Liu et al combined an oncolytic virus encapsulated with liposome into Escherichia coli BL21 with tumor-homing ability to realize the tumor-targeted delivery of the oncolytic virus. This scheme can not only enrich the concentration of oncolytic virus in tumors by 170 times but it also improves the immune microenvironment of the tumor.…”
