“…Singapore grouper iridovirus (SGIV), a novel iridovirus in the genus Ranavirus, is an enveloped DNA virus and one of the major pathogens that caused more than 90% mortality in grouper and seabass [4,5]. VNNV, a small nonenveloped RNA virus in genus Nodavirus [6], infects marine and freshwater fishes and induced high mortalities in both marine fish species, including seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax) [7], winter flounder (Pleuronectes americanus) [8], white seabass (Atractoscion nobilis) [9], kelp grouper (Epinephelus moara) [10], Atlantic cod (Gadus morhus) [11], Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) [12], striped jack (Pseudocaranx dentex) [13], and turbot (Scophthalmus maximus) [14], as well as freshwater species Acipenser sp.
