We use regulatory plans for ‘Wine Cities’ of Bomporto,\ud Pramaggiore and San Martino sulla Marrucina (Italy) to highlight the ability\ud of new urban-planning instruments to deal with different aspects relating to\ud quality food and agriculture. “…In order to answer the question of how the territorial planning of the Florence Metropolitan Area can introduce new tools for the integration of natural and urban systems to simultaneously address climate change risks, the following actions are required: First, the concepts of ecological network (protected areas, agro-ecosystem fabric) and green infrastructures need to be introduced, both of which are related to hydrology, transport, and urban mobility, like greenways, ecological networks, blue networks, waterways, and parks. There is a need to rejoin the pieces of a territory wounded by severe anthropization and to achieve the reconnection of rural agricultural of agricultural requalification are the local plans of some Italian wine cities, where the landscape plays an important role in the culture and history of its inhabitants (Camaioni et al 2016). However, we are still faced with the problem of how to recover the excluded landlocked areas.…”

“…This results crucial for traditional rural landscapes that are of particular interest because of their historical and cultural value and their beauty giving the area unique characteristics and identity (Agnoletti, 2013;Antrop, 2005;Claval, 2005;Howley et al, 2012;Torquati et al, 2015;Torquati et al, 2017). Examining vineyard landscapes, Camaioni et al (2016) have reaffirmed the importance of quality in connection to both food and landscape; in fact, they underlined that the connection producer-consumer support can encourage a more sustainable territorial economic development because of being more attentive to the quality and identity of places and the rural communities. Some studies carried out in Italy highlighted that the quality of the landscape can influence consumer preferences and their willingness to pay a premium price for the produces obtained preserving the traditional landscape (Tempesta et al, 2010;Tempesta et al, 2014;Tempesta and Vecchiato, 2019;Torquati et al, 2018;Troiano et al, 2016).…”

“…Russell and Hedberg (2016) reveal the ecology of alternative food chains that supply Greenmarket farmers' markets in New York. There is a problem of quality in terms of food and a landscape, which is introduced by Camaioni et al (2016) while studing vineyard landscapes. The intersection of food and the landscape is covered in different areas, for instance, by artists (e.g.…”
