Vibration Response Characteristics of the Cross Tunnel Structure

Abstract: It is well known that the tunnel structure will lose its function under the long-term repeated function of the vibration effect. A prime example is the Xi’an cross tunnel structure (CTS) of Metro Line 2 and the Yongningmen tunnel, where the vibration response of the tunnel vehicle load and metro train load to the structure of shield tunnel was analyzed by applying the three-dimensional (3D) dynamic finite element model. The effect of the train running was simulated by applying the time-history curves of vibrat… Show more

“…Meanwhile, the water intake point of west-route of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project is only dozens of kilometers away from Xinzhuangling tunnel, which will be unified with current irrigation system. On this occasion, the large increase of water will cause huge hidden danger for the safety of existential tunnels [37][38][39][40][41]. Therefore, performing the large-scale field soaking experiment near Xinzhuangling tunnel has great engineering significance.…”

“…Root piles have their own distinct advantages. In some specific cases, root piles are likely to be the only effective solution; however, some problems still need to be discussed related to their research and application, as follows: (1) Root piles generally use filling pile calculation methods; however, the principal method of bearing the root pile is by the lateral friction of pile, and the designed calculation method remains defective. More calculation methods exist for root piles; however, the geological conditions under different methods and the determination of suitable design techniques for specific conditions need further investigation.…”

“…In mountainous areas, tunnels can be used to address problems related to terrain or elevation, improve alignment, shorten mileage, save time, and reduce the destruction of vegetation. In urban areas, they can reduce the land on ground and actively take part in traffic dispersion; in rivers, straits, harbours, and other areas, tunnels exert no influence on waterway navigation, improve comfort, increase concealment, and are not affected by climate [1][2]. With the development of tunnel and subway shield engineering, the foundation treatment becomes an essential aspect of any project.…”

“…Therefore, the 10-fold cross-validation will be conducted 10 times to validate the model. In summary, the process of travel mode selection model based on the Bayesian network combining mutual information and expert knowledge is presented in Figure 2 [42][43][44][45][46].…”
