Vibration Characteristic Optimization of Overhead Weapon Station Based on Dynamic Stability Concept

Abstract: In view of poor accuracy of an overhead weapon station’s automatic firing, analyze the main vibration parameters affected the projectile dispersion, establish the vibration characteristic optimization model based on dynamic stability concept, and sensitivity analysis. Through optimization design of weapon station structure parameters, optimize the vibration characteristics and improve the accuracy of automatic firing. This method has certain reference value for structural modifications of the weapon station.

“…So, in this study the Latin Hypercube Sampling method is considered as it generates evenly distributed samples, 18 which is better than Monte Carlo Sampling for estimating the population distribution function. 19 We used this method to generate an (n 3 15) matrix of random data for the 15 kinematic quantities grouped in the u vector in equation (14).…”

“…Hua et al 13 studied the dynamic characteristics of a machine gun system to maximize the frequency of the main vibration mode, in order to guarantee a resonance-free frequency band above the exciting frequency. Moreover, to improve the accuracy of an Overhead Weapon Station's (OWS) automatic firing Wei et al 14 analysed the main vibration parameters affected the projectile dispersion, and established the vibration characteristic optimization model based on dynamic stability concept, and sensitivity analysis.…”
