The purpose of this study is to ascertain the effect of awe on tourist behavioral intentions for astrotourism destinations. Awe is theorized as a multi‐dimensional concept with both cognitive and affective elements. A behavioral model depicting the relationships among awe, tourist satisfaction and behavioral intentions is proposed and examined among 304 tourists to the Dark Sky Party Alqueva in Portugal. Using partial‐least squares structural equation modeling (PLS‐SEM), the results indicate that awe directly affects tourist satisfaction and indirectly affects behavioral intentions when mediated by tourist satisfaction. Theoretical and managerial implications are presented.

This study investigates the presence and utilisation of inquiry-based activities in astronomy education within secondary science and physics classrooms. Employing document analysis, surveys, classroom observations, and interviews, the study comprehensively assesses the nature of inquiry activities, teachers’ experiences, integration of astronomy into curriculum, resources availability and science teachers’ perceived proficiency in astronomical observation skills. Findings from 50 secondary science and senior high physics teachers reveal coverage of the Solar System and Earth–Moon–Sun motion in secondary science, and integration of astronomy concepts like universal gravitation and Kepler’s laws into physics classrooms. However, inquiry-based astronomy teaching is limited, with only 10% of educators feeling proficient in telescope use and low adoption of virtual laboratories and simulations. The study underscores the necessity for adaptive inquiry-based activities in astronomy education to enhance science and physics classrooms, proposing direct and indirect celestial object observation, virtual inquiries, and hands-on simulations to bridge skill gaps and resource utilisation shortcomings, thus enriching astronomy education at the secondary level.

With the development of science and technology and the increase of population, artificial light is used more and more. Abuse and misapplication of artificial light will cause light pollution. Light pollution may affect the nighttime environment, disrupt the living habits of organisms, affect human health and affect astronomical observations. The paper innovatively divided the light pollution risk model into two levels, which were equivalent to the correction of the light pollution degree index. After selecting appropriate evaluation indicators, the paper first collected data from 20 countries to satisfy the universality of the model. Next, this essay used a method which combined of subjectivity and objectivity to assign weights to each indicator and calculated the scores of 20 countries. Finally, it divided the light pollution risk score into four levels by K-means clustering, which were no risk, low risk, medium risk, and high risk.
