Show more

“…The synthesis of optically active molecules is an important field of research, since both enantiomers of a chiral molecule often exhibit different biological properties. Hence, important efforts are devoted to the development of efficient strategies providing chiral non‐racemic molecules [1] . Among them, the kinetic resolution [2] of racemic mixture is generally preferred for large‐scale synthesis due to the ease of implementation.…”

“…Even though chromatography techniques have become the most popular approaches for practically separating racemates, enantioselective crystallization technique is still required at present for acquiring some enantiomers. [ 244,245 ] Compared with asymmetric synthesis and chromatographic separation approaches, enantioselective crystallization has advantages in simple operation and cost‐efficiency. The process of crystallization is still widely utilized especially in drug mass production.…”

“…The formation of conglomerate crystals (a racemic mixture of two enantiopure crystals) that is governed by spontaneous resolution is of significance to the purification of chiral compounds [1,2] and to the understanding of the origin of homochirality in Nature [3–14] . However, only 5–10 % of the racemates feature spontaneous resolution to crystalize in the form of conglomerate, [15,16] and little is known on the factors that facilitate the crystallization in the forms of conglomerate.…”
